Normal
Normal skin is usually in good condition functioning normally and is neither too dry nor too oily and has a sufficient supply of sebum and moisture. Regular care will assure that normal skin will continue to function in a normal way. It is essential to use a good cleanser, moisturizer, and good sun protection to maintain normal skin.

Dry or Sensitive
Dry Skin is often due to the natural aging process of the body. As a person advances in years, the body’s own process and cells are not replaced as rapidly as they were when the person was younger. Skin will appear dry, dull and lifeless. Broken capillaries may also appear on the cheeks, chin and nose.

Oily
Oily Skin is characterized by an overproduction of sebum (oil),
enlarged pores and is more prone to pimples and blemishes. Oily skin
is caused by factors such as adolescence, hormone imbalances and over
active sebaceous glands. Although oily skin is more prone to blemishes
it is less prone to wrinkles and fine lines.

Acne
Acne is a chronic inflammatory condition usually related to hormonal changes and overactive sebaceous glands during adolescence. Though acne generally starts at the onset of puberty, it also afflicts adults. Adult acne is more challenging to deal with as many adults have sensitive skin and hormone changes related to their acne breakouts. Choosing the right skin care products and consulting with a Dermatologist are important in controlling adult acne.

Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic inflammation of the cheeks and nose. It is characterized by redness, dilation of the blood vessels and the formation of papules and pustules. The cause of rosacea is unclear. Certain things are known to aggravate rosacea in some individuals. These include consumption of hot liquids, spicy foods or alcohol, being exposed to extreme of heat and cold and exposure to sunlight.

Sun Damaged
People whose skin has been overexposed to sunlight during their younger years generally start to show signs of aging between 38 and 45 years of age. Skin will show loss of elasticity with wrinkles developing. At this time, many people will notice brown spots and redness developing with tiny blood vessels appearing on the nose, cheeks and chin.
