Restylane is a FDA approved injectable product for treatment of moderate to severe facial wrinkles. It belongs to a class of products known as dermal fillers. Restylane contains no animal derived products offering a clear advantage over Collagen, eliminating the possibility of allergic reactions to animal proteins.

Restylane is a clear gel, known as NASHA-gel (Non-Animal Stabalized Hyaluronic Acid). Hyaluronic Acid is a natural substance in your skin. In humans, Hyaluronic acid provides a dermal firmness and volume to the skin. Restylane is injected to soften and flatten facial wrinkles. This effect is not permanent and will gradually degrade in 6-9 months.

Restylane injections are performed by a physician in the office. The procedure lasts about 20-30 minutes. Injections may cause some discomfort, anesthesia is required before hand either by injection or topical to minimize discomfort.
